H.E. Mrs. Theodora Mircea, Ambassador of Romania to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas with residence in Havana, met today with H.E. Mr. Frederick A. Mitchell, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bahamas, in the margin of her participation at the 2025 Diplomatic Week in Nassau. The Ambassador expressed Romania’s appreciation for the valuable support provided by the Bahamian authorities in the process of opening the Honorary Consulate of Romania in Nassau. She also highlighted the important role played by  Mr. Bruno Roberts, recently appointed Honorary Consul of Romania in the Bahamas, in supporting the development of bilateral ties. Discussions also focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of education — particularly through the promotion of Romanian government scholarships for Bahamian students — as well as in economy, trade, and diplomacy. The meeting reaffirmed Romania’s commitment to building a dynamic and constructive partnership with the Bahamas and the wider Caribbean region.
